{"id":98,"date":"2023-04-09T11:47:09","date_gmt":"2023-04-09T11:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inventorics.com\/?p=98"},"modified":"2023-05-04T16:19:54","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T16:19:54","slug":"cell-closing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inventorics.com\/?p=98","title":{"rendered":"Cell closing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Continuing the <a href=\"https:\/\/inventorics.com\/?p=90#more-90\">study on inter-connected structures<\/a>, an aggregation is modified using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4hgHuVS1Jco\">part transform functionality<\/a> in WASP and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grasshopper3d.com\/group\/galapagos\">Galapagos<\/a> with the goal to find a closed cell in a given sequence of parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"230310 auto loop close 01\" width=\"764\" height=\"430\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NIIt898IR-E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><sup><em>In a simulation a closed cell is found<\/em><\/sup><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The genetic solver tests transformations of a single part type, with the goal to minimize the distance between the open ends of the part &#8211; sequence. Here, the only transformation parameters are rotations of branches. The simulation shows that after iterative testing, a closed cell is found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In aggregations with this transformed part, closed cells emerge occasionally, sometimes even in configurations that are different than the cell initially created in the simulations<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/inventorics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/01.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-100\" width=\"666\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inventorics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/01.png 872w, https:\/\/inventorics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/01-195x300.png 195w, https:\/\/inventorics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/01-666x1024.png 666w, https:\/\/inventorics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/01-768x1180.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 872px) 100vw, 872px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It can be observed, that cells are usually formed only at the origin and don&#8217;t occur again in the periphery.
